Controls Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Focus will be on implementing real-time control applications for our industrial automation systems.
    o Coordinates the day-to-day activities, duties and training of machine setters and machine operations on the complexity of machine operations and the introduction of new machinery and support systems.
  • The Controls Technician/Engineer must have a thorough understanding of computer hardware and system architecture as it relates to industrial automation systems.
  • Responsible and accountable for the development of real-time software for PLCs and of Panel or PC-based HMIs.
  • Debug software and systems, including PLC wiring, automation control networks and HMI.
  • Responsible for the design and/or integration of hardware, software, electrical, and communications systems into reliable robust systems for manufacture and assembly of automotive components.
  • Continually applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignment.
  • Applies advanced techniques and modified theories, processes, and/or practices within scope of assignment.
  • Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and root cause determination developing effective corrective actions using originality as required and monitoring their progress through completion.
  • Conducts training, both classroom and on the job, on the complexity of machine operations, and set-up, and supervises ongoing training.
  • Trains technicians on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) for proper equipment operation.
  • Works with manufacturing engineering personnel and operations support teams to rollout new technologies impacting productivity, including required training, as well as the troubleshooting of current equipment and processes/procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science degree as Electrical Technician that was obtained in the 2+2 format preferred, or equivalent work experience and six or more years related experience.
  • Must be fluent in programming languages for Allen-Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Siemens PLC s, HMI, Profibus, Omron, Modicon and Mitsubishi.
  • Must have a fundamental understanding of computer communications and network implementation. o Must have three or more years experience with the development of Real-Time software for PLCs.
  • Must have three or more years experience with the development of Panel or PC-based HMIs.
  • Excellent oral, written communication and time management skills.
  • High degree of self-motivation.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Personal Computer skills including experience with MSOffice and Program Management Software needed.
  • Experience is a plus with different Stamping equipment.
  • Progressive and transfer systems along with coil feed systems.
  • Communicates well with others and works effectively in a team environment and encourages same in others.

Maintenance Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Troubleshoots and repairs production machinery and equipment, to ensure minimal downtime and optimal production.
  • Performs scheduled preventive maintenance.
  • Assists with new equipment installation.
  • Works with Manufacturing Engineers as needed.
  • Consistently uses safe work practices.
  • Follows 5S plan to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • 3+years maintenance experience in a manufacturing plant.
  • Knowledge and experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems. o Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics and blueprints.
  • General mathematical ability.

Machine Setup Operator

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs machine setups according to product specifications and tooling instructions, to produce precision parts for automotive and other industries.
  • Machines may include CNC, manual and hydraulic transfer.
  • Follows written work instructions for startup.
  • Understands feeds, speed, and rapid machine unit adjustments.
  • Performs quality checks during setup and production using various measuring instruments including gages, calipers and micrometers.
  • Follows established procedures if defects are discovered.
  • Troubleshoots any improperly performing equipment.
  • Consistently uses safe work practices.
  • Follows department 5S plan to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Operates various turning machines to produce precision parts for automotive and other industries.
  • Follows written work instructions for startup.
  • Loads raw material into the machine and monitors the machine operation, ensuring parts meet specifications.
  • Performs quality checks on finished parts using various measuring instruments including gages, calipers and micrometers.
  • Follows established quality procedures if defects are discovered.
  • Recognizes machine malfunctions and makes appropriate adjustments to the machine.
  • Consistently uses safe work practices.
  • Follows department 5S plan to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Previous experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read, write and interpret standard documentation.

Materials Handler

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operates warehouse equipment such as overhead cranes, fork trucks, and other equipment to move heavy materials to workstations as needed for production.
  • Unloads incoming raw materials and completes required documentation for incoming shipments.
  • Performs other work such as operating equipment to prepare products for shipping.

Process/Manufacturing Engineer

REQUIRED

  • Engineering degree with at least 2 years machining experience (turning machines/lathes, preferably machining metals).
  • Experience working with outside companies (integrators) to change and improve processes.
  • Understanding speeds and feeds and how to improve cycle times.
  • Must have managed a project for a new machining process from scratch.
  • Must have automation experience, and knowledge of machine Poka-Yoke.

RECOMMENDED

  • Should be self-motivated, a perfectionist, Team Oriented, desire to continually learn, and be adaptive to new and changing conditions.
  • This is a hands-on position and will be working on the plant floor most or all of the day.

HELPFUL BUT NOT REQUIRED

  • CNC programming equipment and robots, working knowledge of PFMEA’s, Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement.

Shipping Clerk

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Packs parts in shipping containers according to shipping specifications and prepares for shipment.
  • Uses computer programs to generate shipping labels.
  • Fork truck experience a plus.
  • Pallet jack experience necessary.
  • Attention to detail in a fast-paced environment necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Previous experience doing machine setup in manufacturing environment.
